I AM STERDAM

Hey Guys, it’s been a while that i didn’t write an article but i was really busy (i’m leaving for Cuba in two weeks). My article today will talk about  my trip to Amsterdam last month.

I went to Amsterdam for my birthday last month (it was one of my gifts) with the student office of my school (we elect each year a new team dedicated to organize events in school). We left Paris with two buses for an unforgettable adventure.

Amsterdam, what makes you think this city? Some people will say: Las Vegas without the casinos, "what happened in Amsterdam stay in Amsterdam". City of all the excesses, Amsterdam has two lives, during the day where you can admire a magnificent architecture, walks along rivers, cycling, strolling on the terrace of a café and visiting museums.

At the center of the city, found on the Dam (the dam) the old city hall of the XVIIe century, which is from the reign of King Louis Bonaparte (1806-1810) until today the royal palace.

The city is also famous for   the Red light district, and for its many coffee shops, who’re possessing a license to market the cannabis.

Amsterdam by night, the Red light district, you have to see this at least once in your  life. The red light district ... is the craziest place I had ever seen in my life!  Anything goes crazy, and everything will be forgotten the next day, if indeed we remember something. You see the movie The Hangover with Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms and Bradley Cooper, a morning in    Amsterdam is quite the movie. I promise!

The red light district in Amsterdam, is the district of "whores".
In Amsterdam, there is no taboos with sex, prostitutes are on display, they  make some big signs for men to come to them.
And men negotiate the price on the sidewalk in full view of everyone. It is even, I can say pride for them to do that!
Girls have dared not look, we're embarrassed so we talk, we laugh about this phenomenon and we don’t stay two hours near these windows. This town is made for men, because if you're a girl in Amsterdam you are a easy prey, so this is why I give you a little advice: never be alone in the streets of Amsterdam! All Pubs serve a lot of alcohol, people seems to be happy, they are here to party and forget the problems of everyday life!

Country of drug self-service "if you come to Amsterdam it’s for  smoking drugs, drink and maybe more"  that what certain person told me when I met them. Drugs, everyone comes to Amsterdam to smoke. I don’t smoke, I also wonder why some people like to get into such a state?.I mean, There are certain  person for who  this is not a pretty sight!

I'll tell you a    funny and true story that   happened to me. We had spent the night in the bus (almost 10 hours of road, but we made  lot of breaks), and we partied all night from Paris. We finally arrived in Amsterdam, it was 8am and I was not quite awake. Everybody rushed into the famous Coffee Shop (store where they sell drugs). Freshly awakened, I am moving and someone said to me: What do you take at the Coffee Shop? I replied very simply and very naively I'll get  a good strong Coffee, just to wake me up once and for all. A person laugh and say to me: But  do you know what a Coffee Shop is? I replied again very simply: A place that sells coffee I suppose?! She laughs again and tell me: No, I don’t think so! It is rather a place where people buy things not legal!  My mistake I reply, laughing and I said to her  but  if there isreal coffee I want it!

After this little accident, we went to visit the real Amsterdam, the museums and walks. We went to see the Anne Frank House, which is very interesting to visit. It's hard to believe she is able to live here for long.
We went to see the Hard Rock Café in Amsterdam, where I could finally have a coffee!
Then we
went in front of the museum of Madame Tussauds!

What is very surprising in Amsterdam, is the fact that there have not lot of cars, but there are so many bikes, I had never seen so much of my life, they even have parking for bikes . In addition, trams are pretty dangerous. But that's what makes the charm of this city.

What I liked the most in Amsterdam was the architecture , we want to live there because it's quiet and beautiful. The street are sublime, like in the movies.
Amsterdam was a great experience that I recommend to everyone, iti’s a beautiful city by day or night.
Those who want to party this is the place to BE!
